Price
Syften sells three tiers with no annual discount. Entry is $29.95 a month with 3 community filters, 100 results a day, and no API. Standard is $49.95 with 20 filters, Slack, AI filtering, and API access. PRO is $119.95 with 100 filters, 500 results a day, webhooks, and MCP.
SnitchFeed’s pricing page shows Starter at $47 a month and Pro at $95. Its llms.txt and every compare page say Starter is $59 and Pro is $119. The discrepancy appears to be the annual toggle: the page shows annual prices by default. An agent reading the llms.txt sees a different number than a person reading the page.
Syften is cheaper for email-only alerts ($29.95 vs $47). SnitchFeed is cheaper for MCP access: included on all plans from $47 annual versus Syften PRO at $119.95 with no annual option. SnitchFeed also includes API on all plans; Syften gates API to Standard at $49.95.
| Need | Syften | SnitchFeed |

| Webhooks | PRO $119.95/mo | Pro $95/mo annual |

Sources
Syften covers Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub, Indie Hackers, Slack communities, Discourse forums, Stack Overflow and Exchange, Lobste.rs, DEV, Product Hunt, podcasts, newsletters, and the public web. It does not cover LinkedIn or Facebook and says so in its llms.txt.
SnitchFeed has 5 source pages covering Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Hacker News. GitHub, DEV, YouTube, and newsletters are marked "Soon" on its homepage. It has no pages for Discourse, Mastodon, Stack Overflow, or Product Hunt.
Syften covers more sources overall, especially developer and community platforms. SnitchFeed covers LinkedIn, which Syften explicitly does not. Both cover Reddit, Hacker News, and Bluesky.
Agent surface
Syften ships an llms.txt (13 KB) and an MCP server with 8 tools using API-key auth on the PRO plan at $119.95. It has no llms-full.txt, no OpenAPI spec, no .well-known/mcp.json, and no MCP registry listing. Its MCP page states: "the MCP server responds when an agent calls a tool; it does not push new mentions."
SnitchFeed ships llms.txt (5 KB), llms-full.txt (65 KB), docs/llms.txt, and pricing.md. Its MCP uses OAuth and is included on every plan. The tool count is stated as 24 on the features page, 42 in the docs, and 39 in the tool list. It has no OpenAPI spec, no .well-known/mcp.json, and no MCP registry listing.
SnitchFeed has OAuth MCP on every plan at a lower price. Syften has MCP only on PRO with API-key auth. Neither product pushes to an agent. Neither is listed on any MCP registry. Syften’s MCP uses Streamable HTTP at syften.com/mcp. SnitchFeed’s MCP is at api.snitchfeed.com/mcp. Both products have per-platform MCP sub-pages: SnitchFeed has /features/mcp/reddit, /hackernews, /linkedin, and /twitter. Syften has no per-platform MCP pages. Both ship an llms.txt: Syften at 13 KB and SnitchFeed at 5 KB, with SnitchFeed also shipping llms-full.txt (65 KB), docs/llms.txt, and pricing.md (snitchfeed.com, syften.com, 2026-09-10).
Freshness and trust
Syften has operated since 2019. It shows "177 commits in last 30 days, last release 13 hours ago." Its changelog has 11 dated entries through June 2026. It has 11 named testimonials including the CEOs of PostHog and RevenueCat. Its blog published a burst of 42 posts in May 2026 and has been mostly quiet since.
SnitchFeed started in 2024. It has 19 customer logos, 12 testimonials, and badges from ToolBit.ai and Best Free AI Tools. Its blog published 12 posts in July 2026 and 2 in August. Its compare pages carry a "Verified against [competitor]’s own site, September 2026" line.
Syften has the longer track record (2019 versus 2024) and higher-profile testimonials including the CEOs of PostHog and RevenueCat (syften.com, 2026-09-10). SnitchFeed has more comparison content with dated figures and a "Verified September 2026" line. Syften’s F5Bot alternative page cites tier names that no longer exist. SnitchFeed’s pricing disagrees between human and agent surfaces.
Who should pick which
Pick Syften if you need Discourse, Indie Hackers, Lobste.rs, Mastodon, or Stack Overflow coverage, want a seven-year track record, and can pay $119.95 for MCP.
Pick SnitchFeed if you need LinkedIn intent tracking, OAuth MCP on every plan, and a lower entry price for agent access. Check the pricing page with the annual toggle visible before committing.
The third option
discatch is a social listening API built for agents. It sells by the unit with no keyword limit. MCP with OAuth is planned on every plan including the free tier. Discourse forums are a first-class source.
